Charlotte goes to see a horror movie to distract herself from her recent breakup.

I found this a bit amusing at first, intentional or no. That is not to belittle. That is probably inevitable when the main character is finding herself confused for whatever reason. I was pulled in effectively as a result. There was no need to mention flickering lights and a demon visible in the darkness. The imagination just knew what to do with what was given. The demon or whatever it was had a great personality. It was playful, while it only ever granted the darkest of desires. Fun and twisted. Perfect for Halloween!
