Independence Falls (mc mf ff md in gr) (new) by Mister Arioch and Pan
–2.5/5 (not great, had some redeeming qualities)–
A bit of a squick for me is children in these stories. Just doesn’t work for me. Granted, the “children” here appear to be in their teens, but it isn’t clear if they’re even 17. Maybe I missed the line saying their ages … Overall, the writing was excellent. However, I found myself not particularly drawn into this.

The Trainer (mc mf ff md) (new) by Ramaset
–2.5/5 (not great, had some redeeming qualities)–
Similarity to real people is a coincidence? The Jedi do not support the concept of coincidence Anyway, didn’t find myself particularly pulled in, but the writing was fine. Exercise, in and of itself, is not that arousing to me. Yes, I do exercise a bit, but I’m not typically aroused when I do it! I think that’s why I had trouble getting into this. I did enjoy the changes, I must admit.

The Contest (mc ff gr rb fu ft) (new) by Chrystal Wynd
~~2/5 (so-so, maybe a good story to others but didn’t mesmerize me)~~
It certainly plays out unconventionally for the MC genre, I’ll give it that. I must admit to having trouble feeling serious tension here. This getting to it fairly quickly, I know little to nothing about these characters at first to feel anything for them, while a lot of this is in their heads or out of random fantastical powers. I wanted to like this more. It’s done differently, and I like that. However, this just didn’t mesh with me.
