WITHIN
No Need to Think (mc fd cb ft gr) (new) by Mr. Scade
–3/5 (decent, not perfect)–
Well polished, if subtly too fantastical in a comic book way. I can’t say too much to the latter, though. While I have a general idea of many of the mythologies (surprise, surprise!), I don’t read comics very often. This story’s only real weakness is how it was a bit repetitive: you have big boobs, I have big boobs, jiggle, giggle, and so forth. Maybe it felt a bit hollow, too, given the mythology rich nature of many comic books this was trying to emulate in only a few thousand words. It was still an amusing read, even if it was a touch out of my major interests.

Snared (Chew Toy) (mc mf ff md fd) (new) by Chew Toy
–2.5/5 (not great, had some redeeming qualities)–
Wait, if sex offends me, I’m not allowed to read this? What law did that come from? Anyway, I don’t enjoy hypnosis in and of itself. It can function as an enhancement for me, though. Then again, the hypnosis here seemed pretty standard at first, so I can’t say I was pulled in all that strongly. Written uniquely enough, but ultimately not my thing.

I Alone (mc mf sf) (new) by Jukebox
~~1.5/5 (poor +, need to be mesmerized to really like this)~~
It’s nice to see JB posting something again, but the event may be anticlimactic. I saw exactly what he was going for here and even got the visuals, but the style is ridiculously hard to read. The style is also a bit repetitive, but it being difficult to read, that was ironically not that blatant. In my opinion, this would have been excellent as a third person narrative, applying the degraded language only in dialogue. The sole character would obviously be talking to themself out loud, but that could have added to the gut wrenching nature JB was going for. I hate to give such a low score to such an otherwise great author, but as the cliche goes, not every story can be a winner!
