9/22/12 EMCSA Update

WITHIN: Graded primarily on heat and narrative
WITHOUT: Graded primarily on narrative
Possible spoilers below …

Roaming Canvas (mc fd ma ft ex ds) (new) by   Mr. Scade
–3.5/5 (good, not quite earth shattering)–

I wonder what the author means by “brinking her own take of pleasure” Tongue Anyway, never read Breathing Canvas, and don’t really have the time too … So, I found myself pulled into this from the start, anyway. I do like artistic MC, but never read or do a lot of it for whatever reason. The first part at least was quite excellent! Perhaps there was a bit too much exposition here and there, but that’s more nitpick than complaint. Another nitpick is putting “Fin” at the end of the two chaps when the story’s obviously not finished. No real sex per se, while I wasn’t sure about “slaves to our art.” Overall, different, weird, artsy, and well written.

Tit for Tat (mc mf md fd) (new) by   BluejayGS and CG
–2.5/5 (not great, had some redeeming qualities)–

I must admit, I wasn’t really pulled into this one. It oddly didn’t feel all that new to me … I can’t say this was uninteresting, it had some noteworthy jokes, but I did skim a bit. In the end, nothing here really peaked my interest.

You Can Feel It All Over (mc mf md) (new) by   Mudak
~~2.5/5 (not great, had some redeeming qualities)~~

Well, I at least like the title a lot! Anyway, how adult of a story are we talking here? Tongue Anyway, the writing is polished well enough, but having a crappy, temporary retail job myself makes it hard for me to get into stories with stores these days. I can attest to not liking it when called “sir” though … Like I said, well written, but this didn’t push any serious narrative buttons.

I must admit that the recent server issues on the Archive is what finally pushed me into using WordPress as an alternate venue for my little writing hobby.
